鵝媽媽經典童謠

如果說，每個台灣小朋友都是在「搖呀搖 搖到外婆橋」、「小老鼠上燈台」等兒歌吟誦下慢慢長大；那麼英語系國家的小朋友們就是在「鵝媽媽」的陪伴下一路長大。
「鵝媽媽」是什麼呢？它不是一隻鵝的故事，也不是一個人的名字，它是流傳在英國各地兒歌童謠的總稱。這些透過口耳相傳的童謠，每一首都有二、三百年的歷史，總數約有二千多首，內容是五花八門、包羅萬象，有應景應時的歌曲、搖籃歌、遊戲歌、學習歌、和猜謎歌等等。這些童謠的聲韻活潑，用字遣詞自由、生動，內容饒富趣味，讓它們能歷經百年的考驗而不衰，英國人把它們拿來當作孩子讀書識字前的啟蒙教材。

從1744年第一本「鵝媽媽」的兒歌集問世以來，每個時代都曾經出過不同的版本與型式，而這本《鵝媽媽經典童謠》到底有什麼特色呢？它之所以稱得上「經典」，那是因為它擷取了Walker出版社「My First Mother Goose」（1996年）和「Here Comes Mother Gooes」（1999年）兩本書的精華合而為一。
這兩本書的編者Iona Opie女士畢生致力於採擷、整理及研究英國的童謠和民間傳說，被公認是這個領域的權威，而畫者則是赫赫有名的露斯瑪麗‧威爾斯（Rosemary Wells）。

威爾斯女士筆下動物角色個個都個性鮮明，如她作品中最具代表性的小兔子、忠心耿耿的狗兒、俏皮賣乖的小鴨鴨、喜歡冒險的貓咪……。在溫馨的氛圍中，這些動物活潑、逗趣的演出，將「鵝媽媽」中單純的喜悅和慧黠的幽默完全表現出來了。

《鵝媽媽經典童謠》刪除了原書中有文化差異、語法過時複雜、與意義晦澀的部份，挑選出的53首兒歌都是為中國孩子所量身打造的。當爸爸媽媽面對市面上一大堆眼花瞭亂的兒童英語書籍時，此書會是一本讓小朋友欣賞英語聲韻之美、一窺英美文化堂奧之美的入門啟蒙書籍。再加上由外籍人士錄唱的CD，從視覺與聽覺的雙管齊下，鵝媽媽將會和中國童謠「小老鼠上燈台」一樣，陪伴小朋友快樂長大！
